Thank you for joining us for NN4Y’s 2024 Hill Day on March 1, 2024, from 9 AM to 12 PM ET as part of our National Summit on Youth Homelessness at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Many youth experiencing homelessness continue to struggle to get plugged into networks of support, and your voice is needed to help transform systems to prevent and end youth and young adult homelessness!
Hill Day allows Summit attendees to speak directly with lawmakers on Capitol Hill about the issues affecting youth and young adults experiencing homelessness, community-based service providers, and schools, and advocate for our collective policy agenda! NN4Y will provide specific asks for the Members of Congress and Fact Sheets about our policy priorities.
We are providing a webinar for all Hill Day participants on Tuesday, February 6th at 2 PM ET where NN4Y will provide important information to ensure everyone schedules and is prepared for their meetings, with time for attendees to meet with others from their state.
State Captain’s Role
- As a state captain, you will be responsible for coordinating both SENATE meetings for all in-person registrants in your state. This means that you will be responsible for scheduling the meetings with your Senators on behalf of all of the attendees from your state.
- You are NOT responsible for scheduling the meetings with the HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES from your state. However, we are asking that you encourage all attendees to schedule their own House meetings. Also, please schedule your House meeting and invite others in the same district to join. You can find your US Senators and Representatives here.
- You will be introduced to registrants from your state by February 4th. Please use that email to coordinate the meetings and prepare meeting agendas in advance.
- An informational webinar for all hill day participants will take place on Tuesday, February 6th at 2 PM ET. The webinar will cover:
- How to schedule + prepare for your meetings
- What you need to know about in-person meetings post-COVID on Capitol Hill
- What our congressional asks are
- Q&A
