NYAC members inform agencies, policy makers, and legislators on ways to work with youth experiencing homelessness and provide them with guidance on how to do it better.

Eligibility

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 26 years old.
  • Have transitioned out of crisis intervention services, programs, and housing.
  • Live in stable housing, employed, and/or are pursuing educational/workforce development goals.
  • Have an interest and passion for learning about government and public policy.
  • Support NN4Y’s Mission, Vision, and Values

Commitment

  • Willing to share your story with the public, policymakers, and youth practitioners.
  • Willing to be out and public with your homeless experience through media such as photos, website features, speaking engagements, etc.
  • Attend the annual 2-day NYAC retreat in October, and attend the 2-day National Summit and Hill Day held in March.
  • Agree to not participate in advocacy that is not endorsed by NN4Y as an NYAC member.
  • Willing and able to serve on the NYAC for a minimum of two (2) years.
