Building on his keynote presentation, Michael O’Bryan will work with participants to utilize design strategies to structure and organize challenges/opportunities related to dehumanization in the context of organizational culture and mission achievement. Participants will learn specific strategies and concepts they can directly apply to their work and projects.
Protecting Against Homelessness: Normalcy & the Needs of Transition Age Youth In their Own Words

This workshop will discuss the transition into adulthood including factors that increase the risk for youth homelessness & opportunities for organizations to implement more robust preventive measures & interventions. The goal of this workshop is to train providers and other stakeholders on what we’ve heard from transition-age youth in our recent work with youth aging out of the foster care system and within disaster and emergency response, how providers can prioritize youth voice in their organization/programs, and ways in which specific supports in the transition to adulthood can protect against homelessness during this critical period.
3:15 – 5:15 pm | Federal Agency Roundtable Discussion
During this live virtual meeting, Federal agency staff from six different federal agencies will discuss new and ongoing national initiatives to prevent and respond to youth and young adult homelessness. This annual facilitated discussion will produce at least one commitment for the coming year from each participating agency to support young people experiencing homelessness. Summit attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the participating federal staff. Participating federal agencies include:
