RESOURCE: A TOOLKIT FOR MEETING THE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF RUNAWAY AND HOMELESS YOUTH (RHY) AND THE ACCOMPANYING POWERPOINT PRESENTATION

The National Network for Youth (NN4Y) is pleased to announce the availability of a great new resource.  Made possible with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Adolescent and School Health (CDC/DASH), A Toolkit for Meeting the Education Needs of Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY), is a valuable resource for schools and community-based organizations to utilize as they come together to ensure the educational success of RHY.

Designed to provide schools and school staff with greater understanding of the comprehensive needs of RHY, the Toolkit contains background information on youth homelessness, the legislative history of funding for education programs for homeless youth, ways for school staff to identify homeless youth or youth at risk for homelessness, examples of successful education programs in RHY organizations, as well as numerous state, local, and federal programs and resources for this population.

A pdf of the Toolkit and the accompanying PowerPoint presentation are provided by clicking on the hilighted text.
